Summer Solstice Street Fair – As the sun reached its
glorious apex on June 21, 2009 neighbours gathered in the
street for fresh organic food, animators, yoga demonstrations, capoeira (above), musicians, clay workshops, on-site wellness therapies, fabulous food from Slow Food Toronto, a low-input technology demonstration of ChocoSol's solar roaster, a bicycle powered concert by Mr. Something Something, a raffle, a fashion show and so much more. The hair stylists from our next door neighbour, Jazma Hair Salon at 8 St Joseph St. model the latest dresses from our other next door neighbour, The Embellished Room, 620 Yonge St. Festivals keep communities alive and are a great place for neighbours to connect and celebrate the Earth and June's beautiful warm sunshine!
