A. Yellow Door News: 6 St Joseph House

Welcome to the inaugural newsletter / blog of 6 St. Joseph House.

The mission at 6 St Joseph House is
to enable individuals at a crossroads in their lives to develop their livelihood, learning and creative potential through engagement with each other in learning, social enterprise and community endeavours.

6 St. Joseph House is a place where people connect and where individuals come together in the Historic Yonge district of Toronto. You will find many inspirational stories here. Stories of growth and change, stories of success against all odds, stories of friendship (and reunions!), stories to amuse and amaze you.

This edition we'd like to draw your attention to a very special story called "The Importance of Being Ernest" about one of our most treasured volunteers. In the short article, Ernest frankly states, "as far as I'm concerned, non-profits are the heart and soul of cultural life in Toronto- in Canada in fact. I think that culture is critically important for national identity and that volunteerism plays a huge role in culture.”

We encourage you to subscribe to and share this newsletter freely with friends and neighbours.

We also invite you to come to our community meal at noon on Tuesday and Wednesday. Come take a class, participate, volunteer or donate, be part of our community, get to know your neighbours.

6 St. Joseph House is operated by Seeds of Hope Foundation which is located in two core Toronto neighbourhoods and helps individuals tap into their innate creative resources to move beyond the immediate challenges in their lives.  At St. Joseph House, everyone who walks through our doors finds the inspiration to re-imagine their lives and the strength and support they need to move forward.
